Future Minds offers a coherent, modern and CEFR-aligned English course pathway for public secondary education in Cyprus. The proposed structure supports both Gymnasium and Lyceum learners through age-appropriate, carefully graded materials that develop communicative competence, learner autonomy, digital literacy, intercultural awareness and real-life language use.
In this way, the series systematically equips students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to develop into responsible and engaged global citizens of tomorrow.
New Curricula and CEFR Alignment
The series corresponds with the aims of the New Curricula, which are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It supports the development of the four skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing — as well as the CEFR modes of communication: reception, production, interaction and mediation. Across the series, students are encouraged to understand and produce language for meaningful purposes, interact with others, respond to real-world situations, and use English as a tool for learning, communication and participation.Explore how each Future Minds activity correlates to the CEFR through our comprehensive, level-specific correlation table.
Communicative, Task-Based Learning Approach
Future Minds follows a communicative and task-based approach. Students work with engaging texts, audio, video, visuals, discussion tasks, role plays, project work, mediation activities, life-skills tasks and writing outcomes. The series therefore supports active learning, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and personal response, while also providing systematic language input, grammar and vocabulary development, review and self-assessment.
Practical and Structured Classroom Design
The series is also designed to be practical for classroom implementation. Each level provides clear unit organisation, graded progression, integrated skills work, contemporary topics, cultural content, values, life skills, mediation, presentation/public-speaking tasks and digital support.
Comprehensive Teacher
and Student Support Package
The Student’s Book incorporates the Workbook at the end of the volume and is supported by audio, tests, Teacher’s Resource Material, digital tools and interactive whiteboard material. The Teacher’s Book supports both novice and experienced teachers with lesson guidance, extra activities, answer keys, model answers, lesson plans and assessment support.
Inclusive, Values-Driven
and Engaging Content
The content is age-appropriate, inclusive and student-friendly. The coursebooks are in full colour and include illustrations that complement the content of each unit and support comprehension, discussion and engagement. Texts, images and activities avoid discriminatory treatment of people, cultures or beliefs and promote values such as respect, responsibility, fairness, empathy, well-being, environmental awareness, active citizenship and intercultural understanding. Through this integrated focus on values, competences and real-world communication, the series fosters learners’ capacity to participate effectively in an increasingly interconnected global environment.
Future Minds is therefore well suited to the Cypriot public-school context. It combines an international outlook with themes that are meaningful and accessible to students in Cyprus, encouraging learners to compare ideas, reflect on their own experience, respect different viewpoints and use English confidently in educational, social, digital and future professional contexts.
